Petroleum Marketing Law and Litigation
Johnson Legal Network’s experience in the area of petroleum marketing law and litigation is unmatched in the state of Kentucky, and extends regionally. Richard Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in this area, and has represented scores of petroleum marketers during that time. Richard was one of the first and one of the few lawyers in Kentucky to focus on the area of underground storage tank law, regulatory compliance and enforcement defense, as his experience dates back to the inception of laws and regulations governing underground storage tanks from the early 1990s.
Richard has extensive and unparalleled experience in addressing claims for reimbursement with state underground storage tank cleanup funds, on behalf of petroleum marketers and other underground storage tank owners and operators, and also on behalf of numerous environmental consulting company clients. Richard also has defended a number of cases brought under the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act.
Our firm is a long-time associate member of the Kentucky Petroleum Marketers Association. For two decades, Richard has acted as legal counsel to KPMA, and has served as a member of KPMA's Board of Directors. Over the years, Richard has represented many members of KPMA. He has also assisted petroleum marketers in several other states.
In addition to laws and regulations that pertain to gasoline and other motor fuels, Johnson Legal Network has experience in other areas of energy law, and is well-equipped to help business interests as new energy sources and technologies are created and developed.
